Report: In the heart of Madrid, at the emblematic Casa de Galicia, a reception was held that stood out as one of the most vibrant events within the framework of FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Show. This gathering not only celebrated the tourism richness of Galicia, but also highlighted the importance of tourism for this region, especially for the picturesque Rías Baixas. Attendees were welcomed with warm Galician hospitality and witnessed a unique sensory experience. One of the highlights of the evening was the exclusive wine tasting led by the renowned sommelier Nacho Costoya. Through his knowledge and skills, those present were able to appreciate the diversity and quality of Galician wines, which are a true oenological treasure. In addition, the event was hosted in a dynamic and entertaining way by the Mozos de Arousa, a group of young people who have captivated the public not only in television contests, but also at cultural and festive events. Their contagious energy and their passion for Galicia served to highlight the importance of this region for the whole of Spain, not only in tourism terms, but also in cultural and social aspects.

To offer a more complete view of the wonders Galicia has to offer, various promotional and tourism videos were screened, showing the beauty of its landscapes, the richness of its cultural heritage and the exquisiteness of its cuisine. The evening culminated in an exquisite cocktail reception that delighted palates with the authentic flavours of Galicia. Among the typical Galician products on offer were octopus, queen scallops (zamburiñas) and other delicacies from the sea and the land that are a fundamental part of the region’s gastronomic identity.

In short, the reception at the Casa de Galicia during FITUR was much more than a simple event: it was a celebration of the tourism, cultural and gastronomic richness of Galicia, and a demonstration of the importance this region has on the national and international tourism scene.
