SRR 2026 Trade Show: The Joint Sectoral Committee for Recovery and Recycling Takes Part

From 9 to 11 June 2026, IFEMA MADRID is hosting a new edition of SRR, the International Recovery and Recycling Trade Show, regarded as Spain’s leading event for the circular economy sector and organised by the Federación Spanisha de la Recuperación y el Reciclaje (FER). Under the slogan “Generando recursos. Generando futuro” (“Generating resources. Generating the future”), the trade show brings together companies, institutions, sector associations and professionals linked to recovery, recycling, waste recovery and the efficient use of resources.

In this context, the Comisión Paritaria Sectorial de Recuperación y Reciclado (Joint Sectoral Committee for Recovery and Recycling) is taking part in SRR 2026 with its own space located at stand 7G07 in hall 9. Its presence at the trade show reinforces the sector’s commitment to professional training and industrial competitiveness.

The Committee is made up of REPACAR, FER, FeSMC-UGT and CCOO Hábitat, and works to promote and coordinate professional training in the field of recovery and recycling. Its work focuses on identifying the sector’s training needs, designing qualification programmes and improving workers’ professional skills.

During the trade show, the Committee will present this work to companies, professionals and sector stakeholders, focusing on the importance of adapting training to the real needs of the labour market. In a sector undergoing transformation, marked by new regulatory, technological and environmental challenges, having qualified profiles is essential to improve processes, incorporate innovation and respond to the demands of the circular economy.

SRR 2026 is also taking place at a particularly relevant moment for recycling in Europe. The trade show brings together the European industry around debates on regulation, the market for recycled materials, competitiveness and sustainability. It is a strategic sector for the Spanish economy, with a turnover of close to 5 billion euros, more than 22 million tonnes of recycled materials per year and more than 45,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The Sectoral Joint Committee’s participation in this trade show highlights a fundamental dimension of the sector: training as the basis for moving towards a more prepared, safe and competitive industry. The transition to a circular economy does not depend solely on technology or regulation, but also on the ability of people and organisations to update their knowledge, develop new skills and professionalise every stage of the value chain.
