Last Updated on 18 de July de 2026 by S22 Digital

The Fuerteventura Summer University once again established itself as a leading space for learning, reflection, and networking on topics of significant social impact. This year, with a particular focus on mental health, emotional well-being, education, and mindful communication, S22 Digital participated in developing the communication, social media, and press strategy, helping to broaden the event’s reach and make its content more accessible to the public.

For five days, the UVF brought together professionals, educators, teachers, psychologists, communicators, athletes, and community leaders who shared tools, experiences, and knowledge with the attendees. The opening event was attended by local authorities, including Lola García Martínez, President of the Fuerteventura Island Council; José Miguel Álamo Mendoza, Vice-Rector for Culture, Sports, and Social Engagement at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria campuses; and Adargoma Hernández Rodríguez, Councilor for Water, Education, and Youth of the Fuerteventura Island Council.

At S22 Digital, we worked to ensure that each session had continuity in the digital sphere as well. Our social media coverage allowed us to convey the program’s main messages, highlight the speakers’ participation, and generate content adapted to different communication channels. Through posts, audiovisual pieces, photographs, summaries, and key messages, we aimed to ensure that the impact of the Summer University extended beyond the classroom, reaching new audiences.

This edition featured highly relevant speakers such as María Esclapez, psychologist and science communicator, who opened the sessions with a presentation on healthy relationships and emotional wounds; Rocío García de Leániz, head of the Screen-Addicted Parents’ School, who offered guidelines on digital well-being for families; and Mario Cabrera, former president of the Fuerteventura Island Council, who participated in the panel discussion on the anniversary of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Also participating were Rafa Guerrero, clinical psychologist and expert in educational psychology, with a session on emotional intelligence in children and adolescents; Nayara Ortega, a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist, addressed the protective factors for mental health; José Rodríguez Pellejero, a psychologist and professor, gave a presentation on attachment; and Érica Cerdeña, a journalist and content creator, reflected on conscious communication as an agent of change.

Throughout the program, social media served as a tool to organize, summarize, and amplify the main ideas of each presentation. Jana Fernández focused on the importance of rest and sleep for mental health; David Pastor Vico addressed the ethics of trust and friendship; Alba Cardalda shared strategies for setting healthy boundaries; and Mara Jiménez shared her experience with self-esteem and the fight against fatphobia.

The event’s communication strategy also highlighted other noteworthy presentations, such as María Jesús Campos’s, which focused on emotional health in the classroom; and Silvia Olmedo’s, who analyzed the challenges of promoting mental health on social media. El Chojin, who conveyed messages of respect and self-acceptance through music; and Pablo André, who offered an innovative perspective on personal and professional growth.

The coverage continued with leading figures such as Irene Villa, journalist and psychologist, who shared an inspiring story of overcoming adversity; Beatriz Cazurro, psychotherapist, who reflected on the influence of childhood on emotional well-being; and Teresa Perales, Olympic gold medalist, who emphasized resilience, effort, and adaptability.

In addition to social media efforts, S22 Digital helped to increase the event’s visibility through media outreach and the distribution of press releases. The goal was to ensure that the Fuerteventura Summer University had a presence beyond the attendees, generating useful materials to inform, document, and showcase the institutional and social value of the initiative. The Fuerteventura Summer University has proven to be an essential forum for promoting education, mental health, and social well-being. The collaboration between the Fuerteventura Island Council, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and various public and private entities has been key to the success of this edition.
