S22 Digital has successfully completed the development and implementation of a cross-platform Mixed Reality application for IES Condestable Álvaro de Luna, a centre that is part of the National Network of Centres of Excellence in Vocational Training, in Illescas, Toledo. The project, framed within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, has represented a significant advance in the digitalisation of technical training in the field of automated manufacturing.
The solution developed allowed students to interact with real industrial environments through mixed reality technology, facilitating hands-on learning in complex processes such as the assembly and disassembly of a vacuum pump. Thanks to this tool, students were able to view instructions, 3D models and simulations directly on the physical equipment, improving their understanding of the processes, reducing errors and reinforcing the acquisition of technical and digital skills.
The application, designed to work on multiple platforms —including mobile devices, tablets, computers and mixed reality headsets such as the HoloLens 2—, incorporated advanced features such as asset management, guided execution of technical operations, automatic report generation and real-time remote support.
In addition to the technological development, S22 Digital carried out the system configuration, the generation of 3D content, teacher training and support during the roll-out, ensuring effective adoption of the solution in the educational environment.
With this project, S22 Digital consolidated its position as a technology partner in educational innovation and industrial digitalisation initiatives, contributing to the development of new learning models based on immersive technologies.
The implementation directly benefited students and teachers and strengthened the connection between the educational centre and the business community, facilitating knowledge transfer and improving employability in advanced industrial sectors.
