On 11 June 2026, Madrid hosted a new edition of Universidad PYME, an initiative promoted by Fundae with the aim of bringing the major challenges of digital transformation, training and artificial intelligence closer to small and medium-sized enterprises.
At S22 Digital, we collaborated in organising this event, which brought together institutional representatives, technology companies, social organisations and professionals from the digital ecosystem to reflect on an increasingly urgent question: how can SMEs adopt artificial intelligence in a useful, practical and responsible way.
The session was hosted by Cándido Herrero and featured representatives from Fundae, SEPE, Microsoft, IBM, Google, CCOO, UGT and other key players in the fields of training, employment and innovation.
The agenda combined conferences, talks, interviews and inspirational spaces focused on the real impact of AI on society, employment and business.
During the event, topics addressed included the creation of digital teams through AI agents, the role of training in technology adoption, practical cases of artificial intelligence applied to specific sectors, the impact of these tools on the world of work and the need to put people at the centre of digital transformation.
One of the main themes of the meeting was precisely that: understanding technology not as an end in itself, but as a tool at the service of companies and people.
For SMEs, this approach is especially relevant. AI is no longer a conversation reserved for large corporations or technical departments, but a real opportunity to improve processes, gain efficiency, innovate and make better decisions.
