Inside the Fuerteventura Professional Days

The Fuerteventura Professional Conference was created with the goal of promoting the island as a year-round tourist destination, highlighting its identity, natural resources, hotel offerings, and commitment to sustainability. The initiative was structured around three key events held in major cities across northern Spain, targeting tourism professionals, tour operators, and distribution channel experts.

First Session: Oviedo – May 26 | Circus By

Welcome and Reception

The session began at 7:00 p.m. with the arrival of attendees at the Circus By venue. Following registration and the distribution of promotional materials, a relaxed cocktail reception was held, serving as a prelude to the professional activities.

Institutional Presentation

In the venue’s theater, Moisés Jorge, Managing Director of the Fuerteventura Tourism Board, led the official presentation of the destination, highlighting the island’s unique values. He also introduced the representatives of the main participating hotel chains:

  • Elba Hotels & Resorts

  • Fergus Hotels

  • World of Hyatt – Inclusive Collection

  • Livvo Hotel Group

  • Meliá Hotels International

  • Playitas Resort

  • Princess Hotels & Resorts

  • R2 Hotels

An inspirational video about the island was screened, followed by a presentation on the work of Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura, highlighting its role as a benchmark in conservation and leisure.

Institutional Remarks 

Marlene Figueroa Martín, Island Councilor of the Cabildo, reinforced the message of sustainability, identity, and a responsible tourism model.

Workshops and networking
For over an hour and a half, attendees visited the stands of the participating hotel chains. It was an ideal space for networking and direct engagement between industry professionals.

Dinner and Closing Ceremony

The session concluded with a dinner enlivened by Carla Carballo, a singer from Fuerteventura. As a grand finale, a prize draw was held, featuring hotel stays and experiences at Oasis Wildlife.

Second Session: Santander – May 27 | Palacio de la Magdalena

Held at the historic Palacio de la Magdalena, the session followed the successful format established in Oviedo:

  • Welcome reception with cocktail
  • Destination presentation led by Moisés Jorge, joined by hotel representatives and the screening of the promotional video
  • Remarks by Marlene Figueroa, emphasizing the focus on sustainability
  • Dynamic workshops with strong professional participation
  • Professional dinner with live music by Carla Carballo
  • Final prize draw featuring hotel stays and experiences, concluding the event with institutional words of appreciation.

Final Session: San Sebastián – May 28 | The Social Hub

Workshops Kick-Off
Unlike previous events, the session began directly with workshops and a welcome cocktail, creating a professional and engaging atmosphere from the very start.

Destination Presentation
Moisés Jorge led the institutional presentation, followed by brief remarks from hotel representatives and the screening of the official destination video.

Musical Finale and Prize Draw

The evening concluded with a performance by Carla Carballo and the traditional prize draw. Moisés Jorge closed the session with words of gratitude, highlighting the success of the event format.

 Conclusions

These sessions have brought Fuerteventura closer to new source markets, strengthening its positioning as an attractive, accessible, and sustainable destination. The combination of professional networking, experiential offerings, and audiovisual content successfully conveyed the island’s spirit in an engaging and emotionally resonant way.
