Madrid, Friday 16 September 2022. Twelve brands triumphed at the first Madrid edition of the Extremadura Fashion Show. The event showcased very different styles, always highlighting their artisan quality and sustainable production. The Pasarela Moda Extremadura is an initiative organised by Extremadura Avante; it placed the region within the national fashion-show circuit, promoting the fashion sector and its trends, as well as giving prominence to designers and creators based in Extremadura. The pillars around which this event revolved were talent, innovation, quality and sustainability. Artesanía Calablanca; VintiVintae; Claro Concepto; Sancha Artesanía Popular; Carmela Caramela; Alba García; Atelier María José Cuadrado; Mar Segovia; Garrules; Brave Of, Emma Prieto and Guadapalma are some of the creators who showcased their spectacular work. They presented varied and ambitious proposals: from accessories, jewellery and headpieces to demi-couture, as well as sustainable children’s fashion. There was, of course, room for slow fashion, a sector that is increasingly on the rise thanks to its respect for the environment in production and its artisan character. The audience enjoyed each of the designs, particularly thrilled by the flamenco dress by Guadapalma inspired by singer Freddie Mercury. The youngest models walked the runway twice, first with the modern, comfortable and sustainable clothing made by Garrules and then shining with the communion dresses by Mar Segovia, inspired by period dances. Claro Concepto, Alba García and Brave Of dazzled with their pieces of great beauty, full of personality. The accessories by VintiVintae and Artesanía Calablanca surprised everyone with their originality and complexity, adding even more diversity to a show that undoubtedly surprised and moved all those attending. The show was certainly a special day, as special as what the bridal gowns by Mª José Cuadrado (Atelier) represent, which filled the atmosphere of the Círculo de Bellas Artes with beauty and excitement. Authenticity and originality are the two concepts that define Moda Extremadura, a space open to creators such as Emma Prieto or Sancha Artesanía, who combine the traditional with the modern, devising pieces that unite the roots of the land with the sector’s trends through dresses, scarves and peinetas (ornamental combs), among others. The imagination, beauty and tradition displayed at the Extremaduran Fashion Show, in the incomparable setting of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, captivated the attendees, who are now invited to a new appointment with Extremaduran Fashion.
