The Instituto Tetuán de las Victorias in Madrid was the setting for the second edition of the FECORATHON, a dynamic event that brought together dual vocational training (FP Dual) students in insurance, insurance brokers and representatives of companies from the sector. Organised by FECOR, the event aimed to showcase the many job opportunities in the insurance and brokerage field, combining networking activities, group dynamics and the resolution of practical cases. Start and welcome. At 8:45, accreditation began at the school’s main entrance, where attendees were given a warm welcome by the director, Carmen Fernández, followed by Cristina Gutiérrez, Managing Director of FECOR, and Jesús Jimeno, the federation’s lawyer. During the opening, an overview of the insurance sector was provided, highlighting current changes and challenges. Shared experiences and practical cases. Ignacio Golfe Bonmatí, manager of the López Bonmatí brokerage, opened the series of talks, sharing his experience in the management of natural disasters (the DANA storm). Subsequently, other professionals, such as Helena Iglesias of E2K Global and Enrique Maestro of HIB Seguros, delved into the importance of attracting young talent to the sector. After a break for the group photo and networking during breakfast, attendees organised themselves into groups to take part in the event’s main activity. Divided into classrooms and guided by sector representatives, they worked on identifying and solving problems related to key areas of brokerages, using tools such as the SWOT, the Canvas and the Problem Tree.

Elevator pitch and presentation of solutions. Each team prepared its solutions in elevator pitch format. At 13:05, the groups began their presentations before the jury, made up of prominent professionals such as Ana Berrón of Lloyd’s Insurance Company and Lucía Relanzón of AEMES. With a maximum of three minutes per presentation, the participants demonstrated creativity and the ability to summarise. Closing and awards. The jury delivered its verdict at 13:45, recognising the most outstanding groups with prizes and commemorative photographs. The closing was led by Juan José Candela, Vice-President of FECOR, and José Luis González, Secretary-General. Cocktail and exclusive networking. The brokers and company representatives closed the day with a cocktail at the ASCCUAS restaurant, continuing the networking opportunities in a more relaxed atmosphere. The event, which ran with impeccable punctuality and organisation, made clear the insurance sector’s potential to attract and train the future generations of professionals.
