At <strong>S22 Digital<\/strong>, we collaborated in organising this event, a session aimed at sharing technical knowledge, work results and lessons learned around one of the most relevant challenges for today&#8217;s healthcare systems: ensuring the availability of medicines and anticipating the causes that can affect their supply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHESSMEN<\/strong> stands for <em>Coordination and Harmonisation of the Existing Systems against Shortages of Medicines, European Network<\/em>. It is a project co-financed and developed by the <strong>AEMPS<\/strong> within <strong>work package no. 5 (WP5)<\/strong>, focused on analysing the root causes of supply problems identified in <strong>EU\/EEA<\/strong> countries. The main conclusions of other technical packages, <strong>WP6, WP7 and WP8<\/strong>, in which the AEMPS collaborates, were also shared.<\/p>\n<p>The event was held in person at the AEMPS headquarters and was streamed live via <strong>LinkedIn, YouTube and the session&#8217;s official website<\/strong>. The agenda included the institutional opening, an introduction to the scope and objectives of CHESSMEN, a specific session on the AEMPS&#8217;s role in WP5, a question-and-answer session and the presentation of the main results of work packages WP6, WP7 and WP8.<\/p>\n<p>Participants included professionals from the <strong>AEMPS Department of Inspection and Control of Medicines<\/strong>, such as <strong>Manuel Ibarra<\/strong>, <strong>Mar\u00eda Esplugues Argente<\/strong>, <strong>Laura Marrero Ortiz<\/strong>, <strong>Marta Casalengua Dom\u00ednguez<\/strong> and <strong>Esther Cobo Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, who addressed the project&#8217;s scope, the analysis of causes and the European lines of work on this matter from different perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>S22 Digital<\/strong>, being part of the organisation of this session means contributing to a specialised working space in which institutional coordination, technology, data and European collaboration are put at the service of a common goal: improving the capacity to respond to medicine supply problems.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17202 size-large alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.s22digital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2-1024x562.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.s22digital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2-1024x562.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.s22digital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2-300x165.png 300w, https:\/\/www.s22digital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2-768x422.png 768w, https:\/\/www.s22digital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2.png 1348w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Initiatives of this kind reflect the importance of connecting technical knowledge, public management and digital solutions to tackle complex challenges.
